The Saudi Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, affirmed, “The Kingdom’s permanent support for the brotherly Palestinian people, which stems from its deep belief in the importance of the just Palestinian cause, which is one of its most important axes of concern, and a sense that its efforts towards this issue are a duty.” It is dictated by her firm belief, her conscience, and her belonging to her Arab and Islamic nation.”
This came during his reception at the headquarters of the Permanent Delegation at the branch of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region in Jeddah Governorate, the Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif Affairs in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ambassador Samir Bakr.
Al-Suhaibani indicated that the Palestinian issue represents the main pillar of the work of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was established by a decision issued by the historic summit held in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on September 25, 1969 in response to the crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, to be the second largest multi-governmental intergovernmental organization. Al-Suhaibani emphasized “the efforts of the organization’s general secretariat towards affirming the consolidation and intensification of international efforts to enhance the stability of the entire region, as well as the Palestinian people, who, unfortunately, are still struggling to obtain their legitimate rights.”
The meeting reviewed “the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Organization to serve the Palestinian cause, which expresses the awareness of Muslims all over the world of what the Palestinian brothers in Al-Quds Al-Sharif and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque are subjected to, from the daily Israeli attacks and provocations practiced against the fasting worshipers and the safe seclusion of the suffering Palestinian people.” Many of the scourges of these attacks, and unfortunately he still suffers in order to obtain his most important legitimate rights to establish security, safety, peace and stability.
