Alkofiya, a Gaza-based group, launched last week a fundraiser to plant 1,000 trees in the besieged Gaza Strip.
The continued Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip resulted on the destruction of thousands of trees. This was the thing that motivated Alkofiya the most to start this project.
The fundraiser doesn’t aim only to plant the 1,000 trees, but it will also provide basket foods for 500 poor families and school supplies for a thousand Palestinian students in Gaza.
As for now, Alkofiya has managed to raise over $600 USD.
“You can follow this journey and see the impact of your donations as we will post photos and share the moments with you all through our official Website, YouTube channel, and Social media pages.” Abdalrahim Alfarra, co-founder of Alkofiya group, said.
Alkofiya will start planting the trees at the beginning of October, 2023.
The group also shared their future plans for this year. Here are the major parts of what Alkofiya is planning to do this year:
- Planting 1000 Trees in Gaza.
- Make +50 English songs and documentary films for Palestine.
- Provide 50 Educational Free Courses for Gaza citizens.
- Provide School Supplies for 1,000 Palestinian Children in Gaza.
- Distribution of food baskets to 500 poor families in Gaza.
“To make this dream come true, we need to raise at least $20,000 USD by the end of the year.” Abdalrahim said.
