Hours after committing massacres in Beirut, Netanyahu welcomes the Lebanese PM’s request for direct negotiations to disarm Hezbollah.

Benjamin Netanyahu the PRIME MINISTER of Israel has approved the start of unprecedented direct negotiations with the government of Lebanon, following numerous requests from President Joseph Aoun and other officials indicating that the government is open to talks.

Netanyahu welcomed the government’s call to disarm Hezbollah across all of Lebanon and to pursue normalization and a peace deal between the two sides.

However, other Israeli officials have reported that despite Netanyahu’s approval, no ceasefire will take place; instead, negotiations will take place “under fire.”
