Occupied West Bank — Israeli forces carried out large-scale arrest and raid operations across West Bank cities on Tuesday, part of what Quds News Network describes as an ongoing escalation in violations dating back to October 2023.
Bethlehem: Nine Detained, Including a Recently Freed Prisoner
Israeli forces detained nine Palestinians from various parts of Bethlehem governorate after raiding and searching their homes. Among them was Marwan Mahmoud Issa Fararja, a former prisoner who had recently been released.
Hebron: Clashes and Sweeping Raids
Israeli forces stormed the towns of Beit Ummar and Sa’ir as well as the Fawwar refugee camp. Clashes broke out in Beit Ummar, while forces carried out an extensive raid campaign in Sa’ir that included field interrogations and arrests. Troops also continued raiding the Fawwar camp, detaining a number of Palestinians during search operations.
Ramallah: Violent Clashes and Settler Attacks
Israeli forces stormed the city of al-Bireh along with the towns of Kobar, Birzeit, and Tarmasayya. Violent clashes broke out in Kobar, where forces fired tear gas. Separately, settlers attacked a home and vehicles belonging to Palestinians in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, smashing several of the vehicles, while another group of settlers surrounded the Abu Awad family home in Tarmasayya.
Nablus and Jenin: Continued Incursions
In Nablus governorate, Israeli forces raided the town of Sebastia and the village of Kafr Qallil, detaining a young man there — Mohammed al-Rayyan, brother of a man previously killed in the conflict — along with additional raids in other northern West Bank towns. In Jenin governorate, forces stormed the towns of al-Yamoun and al-Araqa and carried out raid and field-interrogation operations in the villages of al-Taybeh and Rummana, west of the city, backed by a heavy military vehicle presence.
Jerusalem: Clashes in Hizma
Israeli forces raided the Jerusalem-area towns of Hizma, al-Ram, and Anata; clashes broke out in Hizma, where forces fired tear gas at residents. Additional raids were reported in the Shweikeh neighborhood and eastern district of Tulkarem, along with a raid on Ein al-Sultan refugee camp north of Jericho, accompanied by home searches.
The report notes that Tuesday’s raids came amid an ongoing rise in settler attacks across the West Bank, with near-daily raid and arrest operations continuing across Palestinian governorates.
