Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire agreement on Tuesday, carrying out shelling and gunfire in various parts of the strip while also detaining a group of fishermen working off the central Gaza coast, according to local fishing committees.
The committees identified five of the detained men and said two others were later released, found handcuffed on the shore near al-Nuseirat, though the fate and circumstances of the remaining detainees’ release remained unclear. Separately, Israeli artillery shelled western areas of Rafah in southern Gaza, while naval boats opened heavy fire off the coast of Khan Younis, accompanied by low-altitude drone flights.
Israeli forces also fired flares over northern Gaza, with gunfire striking shelter areas near Abu Rashid pond west of Jabalia, alongside artillery fire targeting the area around Bank of Jerusalem on Salah al-Din Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood. The incidents form part of a broader, near-daily pattern of ceasefire violations documented by Gaza-based monitors since the truce took effect.
