Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement in effect in the Gaza Strip since last October, carrying out shelling and gunfire operations across several areas of the territory.
Local sources reported that a Palestinian woman was wounded by gunfire from Israeli military vehicles in the al-Falouja area west of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Simultaneously, Israeli artillery shelled areas northwest of Rafah in the southern part of the Strip, while military vehicles opened intermittent, heavy gunfire east of Khan Younis and east of the Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, accompanied by demolition operations targeting residential buildings in the city’s eastern districts.
The incidents came a day after Gaza’s Health Ministry announced that 1,092 Palestinians had been killed and 3,507 others wounded, with 799 bodies recovered, since the ceasefire took effect in October. That brings the cumulative death toll since October 7, 2023, to 73,118 killed and 173,615 wounded, according to ministry figures.
The continued violations underscore the fragility of the truce and the gap between its formal terms and the reality on the ground, as mediators in Cairo work to negotiate firmer enforcement mechanisms.
