Shot in the Chest, Resuscitation Efforts Fai.
A 14-year-old Palestinian boy, Islam Ahmed al-Ajouri, was killed on Sunday after being shot by Israeli forces during a raid on Old Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent said its crews received the boy with a live gunshot wound to the chest inside the camp, and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation on site before his death was announced shortly after.
A Recurring Flashpoint in Askar’s Two Camps.
Askar camp, split between its “old” and “new” sections east of Nablus, has repeatedly come under Israeli military raids in recent months, with previous incursions involving live gunfire, stun grenades, and tear gas fired into residential alleys, leading to a string of Palestinian deaths in the area over the past year, including other teenagers and young men killed under similar circumstances. Sunday’s raid adds to a broader pattern of escalating Israeli military activity across Nablus and the wider West Bank, which has included home raids, arrests, and settler attacks in recent weeks, part of a sustained rise in West Bank operations that has continued in parallel with events in Gaza.
