The strike on Jabalia adds to a mounting toll of Palestinians killed in and around displacement shelters throughout the war, with UNRWA-run schools among the facilities repeatedly struck despite sheltering civilians who fled their homes seeking safety. The continued targeting of areas housing the displaced underscores the precariousness facing hundreds of thousands of Gaza residents who remain without adequate or safe shelter, even as the death toll from the broader war continues to climb nearly two years after it began.
