The Israeli occupation police arrested a young woman from Rahat, in her thirties, claiming that she attempted to carry out a stabbing attack in occupied Jerusalem, on Sunday.
This came, according to what the Israeli police announced in a statement, issued on Monday evening, in which it confirmed that the arrest of the young woman has been extended for 7 days.
This comes while the occupation forces executed the martyr Muhammad Khaled Al-Osaibi from the Negev, on Friday night – last Saturday, near the Chain Gate in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
And the police stated in a statement that “a stabbing operation was thwarted near Damascus Gate, last night,” noting that “the security forces stationed at Damascus Gate noticed, last night, the suspicious behavior of a suspect from Rahat, in her thirties.”
The statement added that the young woman “was seen with her hand inside her bag for a long time. The fighters (the occupation police), who went to her to investigate her actions, found scissors in the bag, and the suspect was arrested.”
According to the statement, “the investigation of the case was assigned to the central unit in the Jerusalem District, and the suspect was taken for interrogation.” “The suspect admitted that she intended to stab a police officer with scissors,” the statement claimed.
The statement stated that “the suspect appeared, this morning, before the Central Court in Jerusalem, which approved the police’s request, and extended her detention for 7 days, until April 9, 2023, in order to complete the investigation.”
On Saturday, crowds mourned the funeral of the martyr, Doctor Muhammad Al-Osaibi (26 years old), in the town of Hura, whose body was buried in the “Al-Saqati” cemetery in the Negev.
In conjunction with the funeral ceremonies and burial of the body of the martyr Al-Osaibi, protest vigils took place in the Arab community. in the cities of Umm al-Fahm, Sakhnin, the town of Majd al-Krum, and at the junction of the village of al-Bu’aynah Nujeidat; Condemning the crime of his execution.
