G7 calls on Israelis and Palestinians to achieve two-state solution

The leaders of the Group of Seven called on today, Saturday, the Palestinians and the Israelis to take confidence-building steps to achieve the two-state solution.

The leaders of the seven countries said in a statement after their meeting in Hiroshima, Japan, that the Palestinians and the Israelis should refrain from unilateral measures, including settlement activities and incitement to violence.

In their statement, the leaders affirmed that they will continue to support the Palestinian economy and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees.

The Group of Seven, or the Group of Seven major industrialized nations, includes: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
