Israeli occupation forces shot and killed two Palestinian teenagers in about 8 hours on Friday in two separate incidents in the occupied West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Mohamed al-Bayed, 17, was shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces in Um Safa village near Ramallah at about 4:20 pm local time as the forces used live fire, stun grenades and tear gas to disperse Palestinians who gathered in the village to denounce a recent rise in settler attacks against them.
At least one other Palestinian besides Bayed was seriously wounded from gunshots and others were treated for tear gas inhalation.
The Health Ministry also said Fawzi Mkhalfa, 18, was fatally shot with several bullet wounds by Israeli forces while traveling in a car as the forces fired over 30 shots at the vehicle in Sebastia village, near Nablus, at around 11:20 pm local time.
Palestinian security sources said Israeli soldiers opened heavy fire, said to be more than 40 bullets, at the car with two Palestinians inside, killing Mkhalfa and injuring the other, who was later arrested.
Since the start of 2023, 37 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip.
