Slight increase in construction cost index in West Bank during July – PCBS

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank slightly increased by 0.05% during July compared with June due to an increase in the prices of raw materials by 0.10%, while the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.19%. At the same time, the prices of labor costs and wages remained stable, today said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The CCI for non-residential buildings in the West Bank also slightly increased by 0.03% during July compared with June due to an increase in prices of raw materials by 0.06%, while the prices of rental of equipment decreased by 0.22%. At the same time, the prices of labor costs and wages remained stable.

However, CCI for skeleton buildings decreased by 0.12% during July compared with June due decrease in the prices of rental of equipment by 0.20%, and the prices of raw materials by 0.18%, while, the prices of labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank decreased by 0.07% during July compared with June due to a decrease in the price of raw materials by 0.09% and the prices of rental of equipment by 0.07%, while the prices of operating costs of equipment and maintenance increased by 0.12%. At the same time, the prices of labor costs and wages remained stable.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) in the West Bank decreased by 0.13% during July compared with June, the Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.33%, the Water Networks Cost Index decreased by 0.05%, and the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) decreased by 0.04%, said the PCBS.
