Child suffers burns from attack by settlers in Masafer Yatta

A 4-year-old child suffered burns last night after settlers sprayed his face with pepper gas in Masafer Yatta, south of the southern occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

Head of the Susiya village council Jihad Nawajaa said that settlers chased the shepherds in Masafer Yatta and sprayed the child, Usayyed Khaled al-Hadar, with pepper gas causing burns to his face.

The child was transferred to Yatta governmental hospital, Nawajaa said.

He added that the settlers attacked the child’s father and prevented him from grazing his sheep in his land in preparation for seizing it and emptying the lands from farmers and sheepherders with the aim of expanding a nearby illegal settlement.
