Palestinian Health Ministry Confirms Two Deaths
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced late last night the deaths of two Palestinians, identified as Odeh Abdulrahim Odeh Farahneh (53) and Ahmad Adel Rashid Abu Makho (26), who were shot by Israeli forces in the town of Deir Jarir, east of Ramallah. Several other residents were left with serious injuries during the attack.
Village Council Head Describes Nighttime Raid
According to Eid Hammad, head of the Deir Jarir village council, settlers escorted by occupation forces broke into a home in the town’s old quarter overnight before seizing sheep and tagging them, sparking clashes with local young men. Heavy gunfire from both settlers and Israeli forces followed. Farahneh, a member of the village council, and Abu Makho were killed, while occupation forces and settlers reportedly obstructed ambulances and hindered the evacuation of the wounded through the village’s narrow roads.
Red Crescent Teams Struggle to Reach the Wounded
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its crews treated a critical abdominal injury on-site before transferring the patient for further care, and later responded to two additional casualties, including a 55-year-old man who required CPR while being transported to hospital due to the severity of his condition. Local sources also reported that occupation forces opened fire toward an ambulance carrying one of the wounded.
