Daily Toll: 12 Killed, 12 Wounde
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza issued its daily casualty report on Wednesday, covering deaths and injuries resulting from the ongoing Israeli offensive on the Strip. In a statement carried on its official Telegram channel, the ministry said hospitals in Gaza received a total of 12 people killed and 12 wounded over the previous 24 hours. It noted that the death toll since the October 11 ceasefire has climbed to 1,180, with 3,810 wounded and 802 bodies recovered. The ministry also updated the cumulative toll since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023, placing it at 73,305 killed and 173,918 wounded. It reiterated that a number of victims remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them.
Continued Ceasefire Violations Through Strikes and Demolitions
Israeli forces continued to violate the Gaza ceasefire on Wednesday through shelling and demolition operations across several areas. Local sources reported that a resident sustained serious injuries in the morning after an Israeli drone strike west of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Sources also said Israeli forces advanced into al-Sikka Street southeast of the Zeitoun neighborhood, while Israeli military vehicles pushed east of the “Dawla” intersection east of Gaza City under aerial cover and heavy gunfire.
Explosions and Gunfire Reported Across Multiple Areas
Israeli forces carried out large-scale demolition blasts east of Gaza City, while a sound bomb exploded in the airspace southeast of the city. Forces also fired illumination flares southeast of Khan Younis, accompanied by intense gunfire east of the town of al-Qarara, north of the city.
