A Fatal Strike North of Deir al-Balah
A Palestinian was killed and others were wounded on Friday as Israeli airstrikes and gunfire hit scattered areas of the Gaza Strip, in continued violation of the ceasefire agreement. Local sources reported the death of Mohammed Abdel Nasser al-Khatib following an Israeli strike that targeted the area around Salah al-Din Street, north of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
More Violations Reported in Rafah and Khan Younis.
Earlier the same day, a Palestinian was wounded by Israeli gunfire near the Alam roundabout in the Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza, while several other Palestinians were wounded in a strike carried out by an Israeli drone near the slaughterhouse area south of Khan Younis. The incidents form part of a broader pattern of near-daily Israeli military activity across the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire agreement took effect on October 10 of last year, with strikes, incursions, and gunfire continuing to kill and wound Palestinians despite the declared truce, according to local and medical sources.
