Palestinian prisoner completes 19 years in Israeli jails
Palestinian political prisoner in Israeli jails Daoud Ahmad Sbeih, 52, completes today 19 years behind Israeli prison bars, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Sbeih, who hails from the town of Al-Ubeidiya in the southern West Bank province of Bethelehem, was arrested on 11 August 2004, and was sentenced to life in prison for his resistance of the Israeli occupation.
Sbeih is married and has seven children, the youngest of whom was still in his mother’s womb when the father was arrested by Israeli occupation authorities.
Israeli authorities are currently incarcerating more than 4,700 Palestinian prisoners for resisting its occupation of their homeland.
