Gaza Student Killed by Israeli Strike While Heading to Sit Her High School Exams

Gaza City — Israeli forces carried out a new deadly strike in Gaza on Monday morning, hitting a street in the al-Rimal neighborhood and killing a Palestinian woman while wounding several others, according to Quds News Network.

Second Strike Hit Rescuers

Local sources said Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle on the street as residents — including children and women — were passing through the area. Footage obtained by Quds News Network showed a follow-up strike hitting people who had rushed to help those wounded in the first attack, a tactic often referred to as a “double-tap” strike.

The Victim: A Student and the Daughter of a “Martyr”

Sources identified the victim as Raghad Hussein Ashour, 18, a student displaced from Beit Hanoun who was killed while on her way to sit her secondary school exams online. She was the daughter of a man previously killed in the conflict.

A Ceasefire in Name Only

The Israeli military has continued carrying out deadly strikes since the ceasefire agreement took effect in October of last year, according to the report. The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a statement released the previous day that 1,021 Palestinians — including a significant proportion of children — have been killed during the truce period alone.
