Netanyahu’s office: The cabinet meets today to take “firm decisions”
The Cabinet meets this evening, Thursday, to discuss field developments that occurred following the firing of rocket barrages from Lebanon towards settlements in northern Israel.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, according to Israeli media: “Netanyahu will chair a high-level security meeting to follow up on developments and take firm decisions.”
Channel 14 stated: “The cabinet will hold a meeting at 20:30 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following the security developments.”
This comes after about two months, during which the Cabinet did not meet, knowing that field developments took place this afternoon, as “Yediot Ahronot” published: “In the wake of the missile strikes, public shelters were opened in Nahariya.”
The Israeli occupation closed the airspace in northern Israel to flights to the Megiddo base, after the missile strikes from Lebanon.
Official Lebanese security sources said: “No Israeli attacks were launched, and what was believed to be artillery shelling resulted from the explosion of Katyusha rockets that were fired from the south,” while the Israeli army spokesman confirmed: “35 missiles were fired from Lebanon towards settlements in northern Israel.”
