Lebanon submits a complaint to UN against “Israel”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abdallah Bou Habib, instructed the Acting Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York to hand over a letter of complaint against Israel that the ministry sent on behalf of the Lebanese government to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Security Council.

In his book, Lebanon warned of the seriousness of the recent developments in the region, especially the villages in southern Lebanon, stressing its keenness to work to remove the fuse of strife and call for calming souls, blaming Israel for the repercussions of any escalation that would blow up the situation on the southern Lebanese border.

Lebanon affirmed its adherence to the policy of restraint based on its awareness of the importance of stability and calm and its unwavering keenness to fulfill its international obligations. However, it condemned the attacks carried out by Israel, at dawn yesterday, Friday, on areas in southern Lebanon, which endangered the lives of civilians and the safety of Lebanese territory, and considered it an act of aggression. It is a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, a threat to the stability that southern Lebanon used to enjoy, a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and a threat to international peace and security.

Lebanon reaffirmed that keeping the lines of communication open with the United Nations and UNIFIL forces is the best way to solve problems and maintain calm and stability, expressing its readiness to cooperate permanently with the peacekeeping forces to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and its keenness on calm and stability in southern Lebanon. .

On the other hand, Lebanon warned of the seriousness and repercussions of provocative Israeli practices in Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the violation of the sanctity of holy places, in addition to the unjustified use of excessive force in places of worship against worshipers, and Israel’s refusal to comply with the calls of the Security Council and the international community to refrain from taking escalatory steps during the simultaneous holiday season. This year for the three monotheistic religions, as Israel, with its aggressive actions, exacerbated the security situation on the ground, and caused an atmosphere of tension in the region in general.

In its letter, Lebanon called on the Security Council and the international community to condemn the Israeli aggression in the strongest terms, and to oblige Israel to stop its violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty in the air, sea and land, and to stop its continuous threats to undermine peace and security, and to implement all its obligations in accordance with Resolution 1701.
