216 injuries occurred during residents’ response to settlers’ march in Jabal Sabih, south of Nablus
The march, organized by settlers, went today, Sunday, to the “Evitar” settlement outpost, built on citizens’ lands in Jabal Sabih, in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
Local sources confirmed that clashes broke out between the youths and the occupation forces in the vicinity of the town of Beita, as they confronted the settlers’ march.
The Red Crescent reported that it dealt with 216 injuries during the confrontations.
This comes with the participation of about 2,200 settlers, led by seven Israeli ministers and more than 20 Knesset members, including the Israeli Minister of Finance, Yiselil Smotrich, and the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.
The occupation army allocated an entire military battalion to secure the march, and imposed a comprehensive security cordon on the southern region of Nablus.
The march started from the military checkpoint established near the village of Za’tara in the vicinity of Nablus towards the settlement, where the settlers are planning to hold a large festival that will take place under heavy security.
The settlers will demand that this outpost be legalized and declared a settlement.
The “Avitar” outpost was established in 2013, and the occupation army opposes its establishment and evacuated settlers from it, but allowed them to return to it several times for short periods.
