Ramallah city received the Holy Light coming from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in occupied Jerusalem, with the participation of large crowds of citizens, led by the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, Mayor Issa Qassis, leaders of the security services, and a number of legal persons and pastors of churches in the city. And a group of priests and Christian clergy.
The march of light started from the Manara roundabout, passing through the main street, to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration, led by scout teams that played their melodious melodies in celebration of the occasion.
Prayers were held in the city’s churches after their lanterns and candles were lit with the holy light, noting that the churches in Ramallah and Al-Bireh celebrate tomorrow, Sunday, the glorious Easter feast according to the eastern calendar.
Ghannam said: “Today we present a message of love and brotherhood to the world from Palestine, and the celebrations are a message from our people to the whole world that they insist on celebrating their religious and national holidays, and that they are united in fighting the occupation.”
