Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan honored on Tuesday the State of Palestine, represented by its intervention and response team, for its relief and humanitarian support for his efforts in facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
President Erdogan awarded the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Turkey, Fayed Mustafa, and the Director General of the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA), Imad Al-Zuhairi, with the Republic Medal for Sacrifice, in an official presidential ceremony that was organized at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, with the participation of more than 90 countries that contributed to the rescue operations and the removal of rubble. , after the earthquake that hit the southern regions of Turkey last February.
Ambassador Mustafa said that this honor is a tribute to President Mahmoud Abbas, who directed the team and issued instructions for their participation in the Turkish and international efforts, and in honor of the Palestinian people for their principled position in supporting and providing relief to the brothers in Turkey.
He added that the participation of the Palestinian team is important, as it reflected the principles, ethics and ideals of the Palestinian people in solidarity and support for the needy brothers and friends.
In turn, Ambassador Al-Zuhairi, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, and Director General of the Palestinian Agency for International Cooperation, which headed the State of Palestine’s team for intervention and urgent response, praised this honor and designation, which he considered a tribute to all members of the team from the various partner agencies, and in honor of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki. And to the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency team.
The honoring of the State of Palestine was warmly welcomed by the attendees and participants, as the Turkish President thanked his brother, President Mahmoud Abbas, and the Palestinian people as a whole.
