After 500 days, Israeli occupation ends the isolation of a prisoner from Gaza

Israeli occupation authorities and its prison administration ended today, Monday, the isolation of the prisoner, Youssef Al-Mabhouh, from the Gaza Strip, and returned him to the sections in Gilboa prison.

The Ministry of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners said, in a brief statement to it today, that the occupation prison administration ended the isolation of the prisoner Youssef Al-Mabhouh from Jabalia camp, and returned him to the sections of Gilboa prison, after 500 days he spent in solitary confinement.

The ministry indicated that the prisoner, Al-Mabhouh, “was the owner of the revenge operation for the free women, which took place in the past 2021 in the Nafha desert prison, in response to the prison administration’s attack on the female prisoners in Damon.”

“Youssef” was arrested on February 15, 2019, during his participation in the return camps, after cutting the separating fence with the border with the Gaza Strip. The occupation courts issued a sentence of 18 years in prison.

On December 20, 2021, the prisoner Youssef al-Mabhouh, an Israeli officer working in the “interest” of the occupation prisons, was stabbed, “in revenge for the Palestinian female prisoners and in response to the violations they were subjected to,” according to the human rights prisoners’ information office.

Two days before the stabbing, the prison administration launched an attack on the female prisoners in “Damon” prison, which included beatings, and preventing them from visits and the canteen, in addition to preventing them from taking a shower for 3 days.

This came in the context of the female prisoners’ refusal to submit to the prison administration’s decisions, which stipulate preventing the female prisoners from being in the room for more than a specified period, as part of the occupation’s measures following Operation Freedom Tunnel.
