Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayers today at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the occupation’s restrictions on the checkpoints spread in and around Jerusalem.
Jerusalemite sources said that about 40,000 worshipers from Jerusalem and the occupied interior, and those who managed to reach the mosque from the West Bank, performed prayers in its courtyards and covered chapels.
The people of the occupied interior took buses from Tamra and Bir al-Maksur to perform the Friday prayer, at a time when the worshipers performed the absentee prayer, for the souls of the Palestinian martyrs.
Friday sermon During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Al-Aqsa, Sheikh Muhammad Salim, confirmed that there is no value or weight for the Arabs other than Jerusalem, and there is no value for Muslims without Al-Aqsa.
He said that our people are still subjected to injustice and aggression in Gaza, but our people excelled in steadfastness and confrontation, did not concede, did not give up, and affirmed their belonging to Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa and the sanctities.
He added that the Palestinian people have proven, since the Nakba and the setback and what followed, that they have carried their cause through decades of martyrs and massacres.
Sheikh Salim warned that the Almoravids endured the conspiracies and did not suffer from Arab inaction.
And he stressed that the Gate of Mercy is part of the landmarks of Islam in Jerusalem, and all the landmarks of Jerusalem do not give up our eternal right to it.
Al-Aqsa preacher said: “We reject every attack on our right to our sanctities, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its sanctity, and the true history of this land confirms Muslims’ belonging to it according to the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
Sheikh Salim pointed out that the Palestinians have the genes of fortitude, the ability to face injustice, masculinity in their males, and chastity in their women.
