Palestinian detainee, 42, completes 20 years behind Israeli bars
A Forty-two Palestinian man from the occupied city of Jenin completed today 20 years behind Israeli bars for resisting the occupation, today said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Director of the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) Office in Jenin, Muntaser Samour, said detainee Nahar Abdallah al-Saadi, who was detained on September 2003 and sentenced to four lifetimes and 20 years in jail, has completed today 20 years in Israeli prison.
He said that Saadi was forced to stay in solitary confinement as a form of torture and ill treatment for long periods of times during his detention, which as a result caused him several health problems, including in the bones, abdomen and colon, in addition to a sprained spine.
During his imprisonment, Saadi was denied the chance to attend the funeral procession of his mother, who died three years ago.
