Deadly Israeli raids on southern Lebanon: 18 killed, 33 wounded, and the toll is expected to rise.

Eighteen Lebanese people were killed and 33 others injured—a preliminary toll likely to rise—following a series of intense Israeli airstrikes targeting several towns in southern Lebanon between midnight and Friday morning, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center.

The center stated that the intensity of the Israeli airstrikes is hindering the work of ambulance and civil defense teams, preventing them from reaching certain targeted areas to evacuate the dead and wounded; this suggests the casualty count may increase as search and rescue operations continue.
The preliminary casualty figures were distributed across several southern towns: seven people were killed and ten others injured in the town of Doueir; three were killed in Harouf; three were killed and two injured in Al-Sharqiyah; one Palestinian was killed in Al-Abbasiyah; two people were killed and two injured in Al-Qatrani; and two were killed in Jabshit. Additionally, injuries were reported in Qa'qaiyat al-Jisr, Nabatieh, Kfar Sir, Adshit, and Habboush.

In a related development, the Lebanese Civil Defense Directorate mourned the loss of Mahmoud Jaafar Shoaib—a member of the Doueir station in Nabatieh—who was killed alongside several family members in an Israeli airstrike targeting the town of Al-Sharqiyah.

The National News Agency reported that an airstrike carried out by Israeli warplanes on a residential building in the "Tarbiyah wa Ta'lim" (Education) School neighborhood of Doueir resulted, according to a preliminary count, in the deaths of seven people.
