Israeli occupation forces continued their military escalation across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip on Sunday, carrying out house demolitions and intensive artillery shelling in both the southern and northern parts of the territory, in what local sources describe as ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.
A Shehab News Agency correspondent reported that Israeli artillery shelled areas northwest of Rafah in southern Gaza, while occupation forces simultaneously carried out demolition operations targeting residential buildings and homes in the city’s northern districts. Residents reported hearing a series of loud explosions during the operations.
The escalation was not confined to Rafah; similar military activity was also reported in Khan Younis and Beit Lahia, according to the correspondent, as Israeli forces pressed forward with what appears to be a broader pattern of strikes and demolitions across the strip.
The incidents come despite the ceasefire agreement reached between the parties, with Palestinian factions repeatedly accusing Israel of using the lull to carry out targeted demolitions and limited incursions rather than fully halting military operations, raising concerns about the durability of the truce.
