Gaza’s Health Ministry disclosed updated casualty figures showing that 1,092 Palestinians have been killed and 3,507 others wounded since the ceasefire agreement took effect in October of last year, with 799 bodies recovered from the rubble and previously inaccessible areas during that same period.
These figures bring the cumulative toll since the war began on October 7, 2023, to 73,118 people killed and 173,615 wounded, according to the ministry’s latest count — numbers that continue to climb steadily despite the formal ceasefire, as Israeli forces are repeatedly accused of violating its terms.
Health officials say the post-ceasefire casualties stem largely from continued Israeli shelling, gunfire, and airstrikes in various parts of the Strip, which Palestinian factions describe as a pattern of low-intensity but sustained military activity that undermines the credibility of the truce.
The ministry’s figures are compiled from hospitals and medical facilities across Gaza, many of which continue to operate under severely constrained conditions due to the extensive damage inflicted on the healthcare system throughout the war.
