Pakistan condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, by a member of the Israeli occupation government and members of the Knesset, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
“The violation of the sanctity of one of the holiest sites in Islam is yet another abhorrent event in a series of escalatory Israeli measures that disrespect the religious feelings of more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world,” the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement issued on Saturday.
It added that Pakistan reaffirms that such actions contradict the right to freedom of expression, religion or belief of the Palestinian people, and defy all laws, human norms and human rights.
Pakistan called on the international community to take urgent measures to put an end to the Israeli violations in the occupied territories, which have clearly escalated since the beginning of this year.
It reaffirmed her unlimited support for the Palestinian cause, and her call for the establishment of a viable, independent and geographically contiguous Palestinian state, on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, as it is the only just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause.
