Three young Palestinian men were wounded today during an Israeli raid into the town of Aqqaba, in the northern West Bank province of Tubas. One of the victims sustained live ammunition wounds, while the other two were hit with rubber-coated metal bullets, according to medical sources.
One of the wounded suffered a live ammunition gunshot wound to the head, with his condition described as moderate to critical, the sources said. The other two were hit by rubber-coated metal bullets, one in the abdomen and the other in the head, with their injuries described as stable. This came after the Israeli occupation forces fired live and rubber bullets intensively.
Meantime, the Israeli occupation forces besieged a Palestinian young man, Ahmed Walid Abu Arra, at a house in the town and demanded him to surrender. The forces also detained Abu Arra’s family at their home in the town in an attempt to pressure their son to turn himself in to the Israeli army.
Kamal Bani Odeh, the director of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) in Tubas, confirmed that the Israeli occupation forces detained both Walid Abu Ara and his wife, as well as their son, Mohammad, in an attempt to pressure their besieged son to turn himself in.
The Israeli occupation forces prevented medical teams from transporting the wounded to hospital for over an hour before finally allowing them to do so.
Tensions continue to escalate in the region, and incidents like these only serve to exacerbate the situation further, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of Palestinian civilians living under Israeli military occupation.
