Palestinian youth killed by Israeli occupation forces in Tubas

A young Palestinian man was fatally shot by Israeli occupation forces this morning during an Israeli military raid into the town of Aqqaba, in the northern West Bank governorate of Tubas, according to medical sources.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the young man, identified as Abdelrahim Fayez Ghannam, 36, had been critically injured in the head by live ammunition fired by Israeli occupation forces during the raid, before he was pronounced dead of his wounds about an hour later.

The Israeli occupation forces had stormed the town of Aqqaba in the morning hours, and during the incursion, they opened fire at residents, injuring four young men. Two of them were wounded by live ammunition, including Abdelrahim Ghannam who tragically died of his wounds later.

The other two were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets. Additionally, a house in the town reportedly suffered significant damages by Israeli missiles during the raid.

This incident adds to a series of incidents involving Israeli military violence, and highlights once again the ongoing concerns about the use of lethal force by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank, leading to civilian casualties.

At least 178 Palestinians, the majority of them civilians, have been murdered by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year, according to the latest UN figures.
