Israeli settlers fence off tract of land in northern Jordan Valley village

Israeli settlers today fenced off a tract of land between the illegal Israeli colonial settlements of Maskiot and Rotem in the northern Jordan Valley, which is usually a prelude taking over the land, according to a local activist.

Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of al-Maleh village council in the Northern Jordan Valley, said that a group of Israeli settlers placed a barbered wire on a tract of Palestinian-owned land in order to prevent Palestinians from reaching their land.

The settlers, he added, are intending to seize more Palestinian lands for settlement purposes, noting that Palestinians have been receiving threats in the past few days to leave their lands and homes.
