Nadeem Awad, Palestinian released detainee exiled to Egypt, lives in harsh conditions amid salary cut
A released Palestinian prisoner deported to Egypt, Nadeem Awad, says he was forced to live on the streets of Giza for around two weeks after losing his housing and being unable to afford basic needs.
He explains that after his release in a prisoner exchange deal, he initially stayed in a hotel and later rented accommodation, but financial difficulties left him homeless and sleeping under bridges.
Awad says he received only limited financial assistance and has not been paid his salary for about a year, blaming the Palestinian Authority.
He criticizes the Palestinian Authority and related institutions for neglecting deported released prisoners, revealing that many others in similar situations are also struggling in Egypt, working low-paid jobs and surviving with minimal support.
