On the 75th anniversary of Nakba, Arab Parliament calls on international community to take a firm stand to end Israeli occupation

On the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Nakba, the Arab Parliament affirmed “its support and support for the Palestinian people in confronting the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authority.”

The Arab Parliament said that the anniversary of the Nakba comes these days, and the Palestinian people face extreme oppression and violence, bid farewell to many martyrs every day, and intensify aggression against them in Gaza and the West Bank, under an extreme right-wing government that pursues a policy of ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people, their land, and their sanctities.

The Arab Parliament warned against “the continuation of the occupation authority’s policy of displacing Palestinians from their lands and expanding settlement construction,” stressing that this is a flagrant and gross violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution No. 2334.

The Arab Parliament considered “the decision of the United Nations General Assembly issued on November 30, 2022 AD to hold a high-level event in the General Assembly Hall, for the first time in the United Nations, to commemorate the (75th) anniversary of the Nakba, as a victory for the State of Palestine and in recognition of the Palestinian Nakba, which refers to the tragedy of the Palestinians and crimes against humanity.” perpetrated against the Palestinian people since 1948.

The Arab Parliament called on the international community to “carry out its responsibilities towards the occupying power’s persistence in defying international legitimacy and imposing a fait accompli policy, abandoning the policy of double standards, and taking serious steps by pressuring the occupying power, to stop all practices and violations against the defenseless Palestinian people and to provide them with international protection and empowerment.” Among his legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of his independent state with the city of Jerusalem as its capital.
