Seven inhabited Palestinian-owned houses in the Salfit area receive Israeli halt on work orders

The Israeli occupation authorities today issued a halt on work and construction orders against seven Palestinian-owned houses in the village of Sarta, to the west of the northern West Bank city of Salfit.

Ibrahim Khatib, head of Sarta village council, said that Israeli forces raided the village and handed seven Palestinian homeowners notices to halt construction and work in their houses, some of them already inhabited, under the pretext they were built in Area C of the occupied West Bank, which is under full Israeli military rule and where Palestinian development is prohibited.

Israel demolishes Palestinian houses and structures almost on a daily basis as a means to achieve “demographic control” of the occupied territories.
